Global Ambassadors Language Academy - GALA

For the second year in a row, GALA middle school students and teacher, from the Mandarin immersion program, traveled to Chengdu, China for a weeklong trip. The entire trip was generously funded by the Foreign Affairs Office of Chengdu Municipal People's Government and Chengdu Education Bureau. Kayden and Harrison, eighth grade students from GALA, represented Ohio in the 2024 Chengdu, China - U.S. Sister Cities Youth Debate Challenge. The students, accompanied by their teacher, Zhangjie Chen, departed on November 17 and returned on November 25. About Us

GALA is a Mandarin and Spanish immersion elementary school on Cleveland’s West Side, the only Mandarin immersion school in Ohio, and first dual language immersion school in Northeast Ohio. GALA is tuition-free, open to all Ohio residents, and no prior language skills are required of students to enroll for students entering Kindergarten or First Grade.
